Be sure to note that the central systems shown above are all electric units, meaning they will all have power cords that must be plugged into a standard 110/115 Volt electrical outlet. Electric central systems feature a thermostatically controlled heater in the base of the unit, and a fan assembly that maintains a constant air flow through the unit to ensure odorless operation. We do also offer non-electric central systems, too. With a non-electric system, evaporation and odor free operation are ensured by a 4" vent stack that acts like a chimney on a wood stove, constantly drawing air upward and out of the unit and maintaining a partial vacuum inside the system. With most non-electric systems, a drain hookup is required.

You'll also have to decide if you want a water flush central system or waterless central system. With a water flush system, a drain hookup will be required, because the amount of liquid in the unit will often times exceed the evaporation capacity. The safety drain can be hooked up to any approved facility such as a holding tank, old septic tank, drain pit, or closed loop recycling bed. For more information on drain hookups, please see the Installation Considerations (you'll find a link at the top of this page).

For a system that's extremely easy to install, you might want to consider a self contained unit. Self contained units are an all-in-one product, meaning that you don't have to run pipe to connect a central Bio-Drum to a separate fixture. Self contained unit are waterless, which means there is no plumbing in water lines for installation. The Excel and Compact are both electric self contained models that also require no drain hookup, making them a cinch to install. All you have to do is assemble the vent stack that comes with the unit. For more information about what's required to install these two units, please read through the Product Instruction Manuals. These documents are specific to each product, and can be found on the Product Detail Page of our website. Simply click the link under Technical Specs and Instructions and the manual will open in PDF format so you can save it to your computer or print it off. We encourage customer to spend some time reading through the Product Instruction Manual so they can better understand each system before they get ready to buy. You'll find a wealth of information about how to install each unit, ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical assistance. If you have questions about anything you see in the Product Instruction Manual, please don't hesitate to contact us.
